Meet Our Teachers

Rebekah Carlson
STEP Co-founder and Co-Director

Picture
Rebekah Carlson has loved experiencing each aspect of the Suzuki triangle: she started out as a Suzuki violinist at age 6, has enjoyed a 20+ year career as a registered Suzuki teacher, and most recently added the joy of parenting two Suzuki string players!

Rebekah holds a degree in Violin Performance from Wheaton College (IL) and has been a member of the NC Opera Orchestra and the NC Ballet Orchestra; she currently freelances as a violinist and writes children's books about composers. Rebekah has taken her students on performance tours to Austria, Germany, Italy, and Ireland, and she enjoys giving her students an opportunity to share their music as much as possible!

In her spare time, she loves reading, cooking, and taking road trips with her family and their pop-up camper (named Gene).

Luci is a registered member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and has completed teacher training through Book 10. She holds a Bachelor's of Violin Performance from Northwestern University.
